Eureka Church of the Nazarene

Pre-Teens at Eureka Church of the Nazarene:It is vital that we work to bridge the gap for our 5th & 6th graders between the children's ministry and the teen ministry. The Pre-teen years are some of the most trying and most memorable years for children and their families. This is also the age at which we tend to lose a number of children. That is why we created a special ministry just for the 5th & 6th grade children with contemporary music, programs & activities, Junior Church on Sunday mornings, and community service projects. Mission StatementOur mission is to expose pre-teens to the love of God, to help them grow deeper in their relationship with Christ through prayer, to shape their lives with biblical truths, to serve others in their community, and to build caring relationships in a fun and inviting atmosphere. 2006/07 GoalsThe 2006/2007 program is centered around learning the Bible, with focus on the book of Acts, and of learning about the beliefs that make up the Christian faith. These studies will take place in tandem during the Sunday morning children's church time. Students who enjoy the study of Acts may take it further by competing in children's quizzing at the district level. Those finishing the course on Discovering my Faith will be well on their way should they decide they would like to become church members. These students are also welcome to participate in the Wednesday evening Caravan classes specially designed for their age group, which gives opportunity to earn badges and ranks and also provides ministry opportunities. A lot of exciting things will be happening with the pre-teens! Please keep them in your prayers. |
